Zavala Elementary has served the east Austin community since 1936 at our historic campus at the corner of Robert T. Martinez and East 3rd Streets. We are a small but mighty AISD elementary school, with approximately 260 students (86.9% of whom are from economically disadvantaged families).

But AISD budget cuts are taking a toll. The number of field trips has been cut in half. School closures will soon send kids from Sanchez and Govalle to Zavala, vastly increasing enrollment and straining the PTA budget.

We're working to raise $7500 this year to fund school field trips, buy new chairs for the library, help pay for a "Reading Rally," purchase small birthday gifts for our amazing teachers, and more. Thank you for your support - go Mustangs!
